Hi everyone! My name is Marie Ai Maguire (but I go by Ai), and I will be your JSA president for the '17-'18 school year! I hope to make this club enjoyable for anyone who is interested in Japanese culture, wanting to make new friends, or just wants to have a fun year. Side Note: If any of you guys are interested in dancing, come join our sister club JK Family, which performs original choreography to American, Japanese, and Korean hip hop music!

Hello :)) My name is Maya and I'm currently a second year environmental studies major. My hobbies include sleeping, eating, and procrastinating, so if you have any similar interests maybe we can be friends!! JSA is a super fun club where angsty teens can get together and angst. Hey I'm Justin and I am a second-year student currently studying Computer Engineering. I was interested in meeting fellow Japanese students and other students interested in Japanese culture which led to me joining the club and eventually becoming the Secretary for the 2017-2018 school year.
JSA has been an amazing club providing me with a myriad of friends and also some awesome memories. There are tons of events throughout the year that we will be planning and some notable ones from last year include the hike days and beach days. Hi! I'm Rayne and I'm your Treasurer for 2017-2018. I'm a second-year Computer Engineering major. Being in JSA was a great experience my first year, since it gave me something to look forward to every week other than classes and homework/studying. The JSA events are also a lot of fun, since you can hang out and meet new friends. Movie Nights are always fun and the Spring Matsuri is the highlight of the year. I hope the other officers and I will make your experience in JSA enjoyable!

Hobbies: Eating, creating unnecessary competition, procrastinating and overly stressing myself out
Hey I’m Miyuki and I’m the social chair of JSA. I’m 150 cm tall, and I joined JSA because I was lured in by Japanese food. I may be awkward at first but once you get to know me, you’ll see that I’m actually really weird, mean and savage af. I’m a pro at stealing food so if you want to join JSA, you must swear loyalty to me and give me food whenever I please.
Jokes aside, I’m half Japanese and half Filipina and I lived in Japan for 6 years. The first meeting I went to was because they had curry, but I wanted to join this club because I wanted to keep in touch with my Japanese culture and meet other Japanese people. I look forward to meeting new people and have fun adventures with this year :)

Hi! My name is Lisa and I'm a second year here at UCSC. I've grown up embracing my Japanese culture and would love to spread more of it in our JSA. All of us in JSA are sweet individuals and we provide a welcoming community for anyone interested! Also there'll be lots of opportunity to eat some yummy Japanese foods as well (: Everyone is welcomed to check us out and I hope to make this year a fun filled year with you all!

Hiya~! I'm Sota Nakajima and with me is Ju Ju Brownie, my little brownie! She doesn't bite but be careful because Hinako does! I love going outdoors adventuring, staying indoors watching anime, and everything in between!
As your fundraising chair, my goal is to give you guys lots of good food to eat, and raising money for the club so we can do fun activities together! If you have any yummy food ideas, hit me up! Looking forward to cooking lots of yummy foodies with you guys!

Hey, my name is Daniel, and I am currently a first year Neuroscience major! I’ve been an active member in both JSA and our sister club KASA (which you should definitely join as well! #shameful/shameless plug) since I’ve first arrived here at Santa Cruz, and both clubs have presented me with boundless opportunities to meet new people and learn in-depth about Japanese and Korean culture. As your historian, I hope to capture all the warm and happy memories throughout the year and give back to the JSA family. Don't hesitate to ask me anything!
