OFFICERS POSITION
Interested in becoming an officer? Here are some information on what each position is responsible for; elections are held during Spring quarter every year. Feel free to ask any of our officers about JSA and related activities!
VICE-PRESIDENT [Signer]
-If the President is unavailable, VP will cover position temporarily
-Helps set agenda
-Assists in paperwork process and answers any questions
-Aware of potential issues and concerns within JSA
-Keep contact (especially emergencies) with the president and other officers
-Keep officers on track
Recommended for: organized and responsible person willing to support the President and other officers to run the organization. Flexible and accommodating schedule preferred.
PRESIDENT [Signer]
-Head of the organization
-Responsible for leading officer and general meetings
-Plans and sets agenda for the org
-Plans and delegates social events
-Plans budget and regulate org funds (with the Treasurer)
-Contacts organizations around the area for collaborations (i.e. IJAC)
-Meets with vice president regularly to discuss issues and plans
-Keeps and stores JSA related paperwork (with the Secretary)
-Keep officers on track
Recommended for: organized, responsible, and social person who has an aspiration to make JSA better. Flexible and accommodating schedule preferred.
SECRETARY [Signer]
-General note taker of the organization (officer and general meetings, etc.)
-Posts the notes online and send emails
-Aware of upcoming dates for fundraisers, events, and socials
-Update Facebook page with reminders of upcoming fundraisers, events, and social
-Keeps and stores JSA related paperwork (with President)
-Keep Officers on track, through relaying messages
Recommended for: organized and responsible person who likes to take notes (digital or analog) and is willing to update other members of current situation. Flexible and accommodating schedule preferred.
TREASURER [Signer]
-Aware of JSA’s financial situation
-Gets an updated financial ledger from SOAR after each fundraiser/events
-Approves budgets for fundraisers and events (with President)
-Assists in figuring out financial profits of fundraisers and events
Recommended for: organized and responsible person with knowledge of money allocation or who is generally good with numbers.
HISTORIAN
-In charge of taking photos and gathering photos from socials, fundraisers and other events
-Works on and completes a JSA scrapbook for the year
-Helps plan social events (with PR/Social)
-Update JSA website along with others to keep people updated
Recommended for: creative and organized person interested in making a scrapbook for JSA and taking photos for the organization

PUBLIC RELATIONS
-Responsible for event/fundraiser advertisements (posters/fliers)
-Responsible for recruitment throughout the year
-Helps plan social events (with Social Chair)
-Help communicating with other organizations on/off campus
Recommended for: social and organized person interested in running social events and communicating with other organizations on/off campus
Social Chair
-Responsible for planning social events/activities
-Advertise events for maximum turn outs
-Delegating events with the other officers
-Supports the PR for recruitment during the beginning of the year
Recommended for: social and organized person interested in running social events and communicating with other organizations on/off campus
Fundraiser Chair
-Plan fundraiser throughout the year
-Help the treasurer on budgeting for events.
-Visit colleges to ask for funds
-Delegate fundraisers
Recommended for: social and organized person interested in running fundraising events.
Sport Coordinating/Entertainment Head
-Plan sports event (IM League)
-Helps delegate events with Social Chair
-Helps PR with recruiting members
Recommended for: social and organized person interested in running social events.
